Monster House

I'm not sure if you've heard of the movie "Monster House" but it's a kids horror movie that used to scare the crap out of my younger sister and I when we we're little. I won't give away too many spoilers about the movie, but I will give you a little insight on why it was so horrifying to watch as a kid. First off, the movie was placed in present time so we easily thought this could actually happen to us. The movie's main character is a boy, probably in middle school, who lives across the street from a spooky old house were an old man lives. The boy was often left alone with his gothic babysitter who makes fun of him whenever he has something to say about the house. My sister I didn't have a babysitter too often but we did live across from a spooky house that an old man lived in. Now, the house looked nothing like the one in the movie but we we're still terrified of the thought of what could happened if we ever wondered over there.
The movie contained an actual death within in it that was extremely graphic and something that we probably shouldn't have been watching. Our parents were shocked when we took the movie and pushed it to the back of our movie shelf, too scared to even walk past it if it was visible. Our parents didn't watch the movie with us, and still to this day I have the movie with me because my sister sent the cursed disc away with me to college and out of her reach. What our parents didn't know was that my sister and I had a dream about our neighbor across the street. In mine he grabbed my sister and I from the end of the driveway while we were waiting for the bus and stuck us in the ditch in front of his house, as we we're too small to climb out. In my sister's dream the old man actually killed us by chopping us up into small pieces. Inevitably, we haven't watched the movie since our dreams.

That's one of my favorite, and most traumatizing stories from Halloween. Tell us your spookiest Halloween story in the comments below! Image Source
